Here at 29 weeks!

Mummy couldn't hold on any longer...after 5 weeks in KK Hospital's labour ward, the water bag broke on 4th October just after midnight. Daddy was at Oktoberfest in Fort Canning Park when he received the panicky phonecall. I shivered involuntarily in fear till he arrived. The contractions got stronger and more painful, the doctors upped my IV sabultamol to 90ml/hr, injected another dose of steriods in me, pumped in all sorts of antibiotics and did 6-hrly blood tests to detect infection, as we struggled to delay the birth. Finally, after 32 hours of contractions (with no sleep, food, water, nor pain-relieving drugs) and an emergency c-section with spinal anesthetic, Alex arrived at 8.19am on 5th October, and Charlie followed 60 seconds later

Alex weighed in at 1.32Kg, 39cm long, and Charlie 1.15Kg, 38cm long. I didnt get to see them as they were rushed immediately to the Neonatal ICU. Stu snapped a few photos for me,
but nothing could have prepared me for the flood of emotions that overcame me when I looked at our babies for the first time the following day.

20 Weeks Detailed Scan

More Twin Strollers to think about...

We had a look at the twin Mountain Buggy on the weekend...it looked really big and honestly, I would be embarassed to be seen pushing it around. People would notice the pram, not the babies. In the same shopping centre, we spotted a couple with a nifty looking twin stroller ferrying around 2 girls, hurried after them to enquire about it, and ta-dah! Here it is, by Esprit from Toys R' Us. Only S$230! I've been looking at this Phil & Teds one on the net and do like it, but have not seen one physically yet. It might be as huge as the MB. We might end up getting two single strollers...

Double Buggies

Which one should we get?

Mountain Buggy or Peg Perego?

Durian Durian

After indulging in a small seed of durian last night, I began to feel more flipping/ light kicking movements than I've ever had, for a good half hour or so. It may the the King of Fruits energising them. Or it may be the babies kicking away in protest, "Smelly mummy, smelly!"

Boys?

Yesterday at a meeting Ms Cheng guessed that I'm having a boy (she didnt know there are 2 of them). Because, she said, I have a round nose and my bump is wider. The people who guessed they are boys include Stu, my mom, Youli, and Sash. Mom and Youli have this theory that carrying boys make me "uglier" (pimples erupting etc). Honestly, I dun think I look that bad, not yet. Chook and myself guessed that they are girls. I'm begining to love this guessing game and I'm finally convinced that not knowing the sex is the way to go. Let's see who is right!
